Idea Flowers

If April showers bring May flowers,

I should be filled with ideas.

Ideas, (way better than pilgrims), that seed

My future projects.

Ideas in flower form, all pastel and plentiful,

Floating in the sweet spring sun.

Instead, I feel still overwhelmed by winter.

Her rain and cold are deeply rooted into my little universe.

Working her chilly slumber into my thoughts,

Keeping them preoccupied.

All they want to do is keep warm.

Stay safe and wrapped up in the soft dreams

A really good blanket brings.

They don’t even worry, yet,

If they are good enough to create.

The winter and my thoughts breathe deeply together,

Snoozing through the still chilly days.
